2020 Pearland Lunar New Year Gala canceled- Due to the Covid -19 (1.25.2020)

The Pearland Chinese Association’s Lunar New Year Gala, originally scheduled for February 2, 2020, was forced to be canceled one week prior to the event due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The Association stated that the decision to cancel was made with the health and safety of community members in mind, aiming to prevent the potential spread of the virus through early precautions.

The gala had been carefully organized by the Pearland Chinese Association and was set to feature a variety of cultural performances, family activities, and community interaction, making it a major annual cultural event. Although it could not take place as planned, the Association expresses heartfelt gratitude to all members, residents, and volunteers for their support and dedication, and looks forward to organizing more safe and enjoyable community activities once the pandemic is under control.

The Pearland Chinese Association also urges community members to practice personal safety measures, avoid large gatherings, and work together to protect health and safety during the pandemic.
