On December 5, 2020, the Pearland Chinese Association (TXPCA) successfully held its Annual Member Meeting via Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to public health restrictions, this was the first time the Association conducted its annual meeting entirely online. A total of 20 participants attended, including both board members and general members.

TXPCA Members Present:

The meeting covered the following key topics:
1. Review of 2020 Activities
Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, TXPCA continued to serve the community by organizing multiple virtual events throughout the year, including online seminars, public health information sharing, and holiday greeting videos. These activities kept members connected and supported during a difficult year.
2. 2020 Financial Report
The Treasurer presented an overview of the year's financial status, showing that the Association remained stable and transparent in its operations. Resources were primarily used to support online community services and pandemic-related programs.
3. Outlook for 2021 Activities
The Board introduced preliminary plans for 2021, including continued online seminars, community support initiatives, and the possibility of resuming selective in-person activities when conditions allow. The Association aims to expand community engagement and enrich member services in the coming year.
4. Preparation for the First Online Chinese New Year Video Gala
To adapt to COVID-19 restrictions, TXPCA announced its plan to launch the first-ever Online Chinese New Year Video Gala in 2021. Preparations have begun, including program solicitation, video production, and online broadcasting arrangements. This innovative format will allow members to celebrate the Lunar New Year together despite physical distancing.
5. Member Feedback and Suggestions
Members shared constructive feedback regarding event formats, community engagement, and involvement of younger participants. Their insights will help guide the Association’s future development.
