On November 18, the Pearland Chinese Association (PCA) held its Annual Member Meeting with active participation from board members and community representatives, including:Xiaoling Liu, Hua Tian, Ma Li, Xiao Xiao, Carol Li, Huang Xiang, Liran Zhou, Sophie Zheng, Jiang Zhiyong, Wu Jie, Mia Liu, Mingxia Sun, Dong Yan, Rongyu Liu, and Brian Liu.
The meeting focused on reviewing the past year’s achievements, discussing financial status, outlining plans for 2023, and gathering community input.
1. Summary of 2022 Activities
PCA presented a comprehensive recap of the major events held throughout 2022, including cultural celebrations, community service activities, youth programs, educational seminars, and festival gatherings. Members recognized the strong community engagement and positive impact these events brought to Pearland and surrounding areas.
2. 2022 Financial Report
The treasurer delivered a clear and transparent financial report, covering annual income, expenditures, and budget allocations. PCA reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and responsible management of community resources.
3–4. Plans for 2023 & Progress on Lunar New Year Celebration Preparation
The board shared preliminary plans for 2023, highlighting community activities, cultural programs, and expanded youth involvement.Special attention was given to the preparation progress for the 2023 Lunar New Year Celebration, including venue planning, program recruitment, sponsorship coordination, and volunteer organization. The team expressed confidence that the upcoming event will bring the community an energetic and joyful celebration.
5. Suggestions & Feedback
Members offered valuable feedback regarding activity organization, community needs, and opportunities to strengthen PCA’s outreach. The board expressed sincere appreciation for all suggestions and will incorporate them into future planning.
6. Introduction of New Board Members
PCA officially welcomed James Jiang and Liran Zhou as new board members, as well as Ma Li joining the leadership team. Their commitment and willingness to serve were warmly acknowledged by all attendees.
The 2022 Annual Member Meeting concluded successfully, with gratitude expressed to all members, volunteers, and supporters whose dedication continues to fuel PCA’s growth and community service mission.
